APPLICATION GUIDELINES
WRITERSPlease submit a link to your portfolio, along with 3-5 fic samples that best represent your skills. (Ao3 is OK as a portfolio.)
At least one excerpt MUST be BSD-centric.
You may submit excerpts of longer fics.
At least one sample must be a standalone, complete work within 2,000 words.
Please keep the total word count of your samples between 6,000 and 10,000 words.

NSFW works are OK, but please tag them accordingly.
At least one Bungou Stray Dogs piece is highly recommended, but not mandatory.
You may submit traditional art as a sample. Please scan it in 300 DPI.

Merch portfolio/samples of previous work are highly preferred. If you do not have merch samples, you may also submit the art style you'd use for merch.

CREATION GUIDELINES
Writers will be asked to create a fic of 1500 words or less. They may choose to work with an artist for spot art.Page artists will be expected to create one piece of fully rendered art at 300 DPI. They may also choose to work with a writer to create spot art for a fic.Merch artists will be expected to make 1-3 pieces of merchandise, depending on merch allocation and production.All contributors will have the option to contribute an additional piece to our digital-only explicit add-on zine.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What is a zine?
A: A zine (short for magazine) is a fanmade magazine or book that includes contributions from a variety of artists and writers.

Q: Is this zine NSFW?
A:The main zine will feature dark themes, including blood, violence, MCD, and drug use. This includes content that would typically fall under an R18 or Ao3 Mature rating.We will also be creating a digital-only add-on zine which all accepted contributors will have the option to create for. This add-on will include sexual content, including that which would fall under an Ao3 Explicit rating.All works in either zine will have applicable tags and warnings listed.

Q: What's the minimum age to apply?
A: You must be at least 18 years of age at the time of applying. Due to the mature nature of the content that will be included, as well as the fact that this is a for-profit zine, no minors will be permitted to participate.

Q: What do I get for contributing?
A: At minimum, all contributors are guaranteed a free copy of all digital items. Depending sales, we are aiming to provide free full bundles and shipping. If there are additional profits remaining after all other associated costs are accounted for, these will be split equally amongst all mods and contributors.

Q: How many contributors will this zine be accepting?
A: We will be accepting 8 writers, 15 page artists, and 4 merch artists. Invited guests will be included in these numbers. At maximum, we will have 1 writing guest, 2 page artist guests, and 1 merch guest.

Q: What pairings and content are allowed?
A: All Bungou Stray Dogs characters that appear within the Official BEAST Manga / Movie / Light Novel can be featured. Pieces in the main zine and add-on may feature ships, including as the main focus of the piece. There are not currently any restrictions on particular pairings, so long as they do not fall under the banned content lists. However, any character that does NOT appear in the BEAST manga, light novel, or movie cannot be featured.

Q: Do I need prior experience to participate?
A: Absolutely not! No prior experience is necessary.

Q: Can I post WIPs or stream my art?
A: Please do not post full WIPs of your zine piece. Thumbnails and small teasers are OK. Please use your best judgement! We will also provide preview templates for contributors to share on their social media later on in the process.

Q: Can I post or sell my finished art?
A: Contributors retain all rights to their artwork and writing! However, we do ask that you only post and/or sell your art after orders have been fulfilled. This will ensure the best possible experience for everyone! Mods will also let you know when it's OK to post your pieces independently.

Q: Can I apply for more than one role?
A: You can apply for as many roles as you like, but you will be selected for one position only.
